PADI Discover SCUBA

 

Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater?  If you want to try SCUBA diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover SCUBA Diving is for you.  

Discover SCUBA Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.  You learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.  Get ready to:

 

  • Go over the scuba equipment you use to dive and how easy it is to move around underwater with your gear.

  • Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater.

  • Learn key skills you’ll use during every scuba dive.

  • Have fun swimming around and exploring.

  • Hear about becoming a certified diver through the PADI Open Water Diver course.

PADI SCUBA OWD (Open Water Diver)

​

​If you’ve always wanted to take SCUBA diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.  

Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI Open Water Diver course – the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba course.   Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course.
 
The Process:


Academics   PADI's Online Training program is designed so that you can learn the academics at your own pace when it is convenient for you.  You can complete the academics online or at Dive & Glide in the classroom.


Equipment   In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, and a tank.  The equipment you wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate, or cold water.


Pool Training   When you're fitted with your scuba equipment you can begin your pool training.  Your PADI instructor will help you put into practice the techniques you learned in the academics program. Your training dives will be logged and approved by your instructor before you move on to open water.

Your PADI OWD course fee covers all class sessions, eLearning online, pool sessions, instructor fees, pool fees, and use of a full set of SCUBA gear (excluding personal gear = mask, snorkel, fins, and boots).

​

To obtain your PADI OWD certification you will need to also complete Open Water Checkout Dives, 0r, complete your certification on your next warm-water trip by requesting Universal Referral Papers at the completion of your class and pool skills.

​

Individuals ages 10+ and up may participate.   (Junior certification is allowed for ages 10-14.)
